2017: Summer of COLOR

This season’s color pallet includes yellow. Not a muted mustard yellow. Not a pale, baby nursery yellow. It’s bright. It’s bold. And I love it.

As a rule, I don’t normally wear yellow. I always assume I look like that famous burger slinging clown with my mane of red hair and yellow clothing. And while he’s iconic, I don’t really want my fashion to conjure images from a fast food mascot.

The color yellow is often associated with happiness. It’s sparks your imagination and almost immediately makes you think of items, foods, or flavors associated with it. It takes a certain amount of confidence to wear because it will if nothing else, get you noticed.

Along with sunshine yellow, this season’s colors include bright pink, a deep royal blue and tangerine. Blue has always been my go-to color. I love this season’s selections of varied depth. But, I want to step out of my comfort zone. Branch out. Get a little crazy this season. I want to wear yellow without fear. Even if I just start with a little yellow 'bling'.
